While determining the theme of the 2022 issue of KaosQ+ as queer political economy, I set out from my own field of interest and expertise, and I wanted to create a space for a discussion on the political economic, even Marxist bend of queer and trans theory, which has recently received more and more attention in queer studies. It took time to make room for political economy in queer theory, a field shaped predominantly by Foucault, because there are deep differences between Foucault and Marx's approach to the concept of power.
