KaosQueer+ Journal of Queer Studies Issue: 4 "Border"
1 in stock
Description
Borders, limitations, sieges, closures, camps, camping, walls, barriers, prohibitions, divisions, antagonisms, fragmentations, destructions, discriminations, exclusion, oppression, positions and losses of positions... When we determine that the effort to understand the relationships, events, issues, and the ability to say meaningful words that determine the political and sociocultural outlook of the period we live in has almost reached a limit, it seems that we have only words left to define the day. How is it possible to re-establish and put into practice the meaning, the word, the action, the imagination, the desire/willingness to live and be together in these days when politics has reached a point of closure and we are struggling with the feeling of being closed and exhausted? In what ways can it be possible to cross borders, to break down walls and barriers, to turn oppositions into encounters, to lift prohibitions, to relate, to establish relationships? Which borders are necessary, which laws should be defended, which identities should be protected, which foundations and principles should be indispensable? Which identities should be transformed, which borders should be redrawn, which violations should be resisted, on which grounds should we meet, which language should we speak, how should we reconcile and be together?
The theme of this issue of Kaosq+ is "borders" and we wanted to bring together those who are thinking about, tired of, or on a journey from the borders of the body to the borders of the country, from the borders of language to the borders of disciplines. Those who look at the imposed borders with suspicion, those who want to overcome walls and borders, those who want to offer new spaces, positions and ranges have shouldered this issue.
Our new issue includes all works that ignore the boundaries imposed by disciplines and look at time, space, economics or politics from a gender, feminism or queer perspective, revealing, questioning and reconstructing the boundaries of gender or queer studies. Enjoy your reading!
