When there is no one left to remember a crime, does that erase the pain caused by that crime?

Ann and Wade's quiet life in the rugged and beautiful Idaho wilderness is disrupted by Wade's failing memory and aggressive behavior. As Ann tries to find out how and why Wade's former happy life with his first wife Jenny and their daughters has been upended, Ann's time is running out due to her husband's failing memory. As the narrative is told from different perspectives and shifts between various times and places, the tragedy that tears some of the characters apart and brings others together will gradually come to light.

Idaho is an unsettling novel about forgetting and remembering, about families and children, about how the ghosts of those who have left our lives continue to live with us.
