In this unfinished work, Nobel Prize-winning Yugoslav writer Ivo Andrich invites the reader on a gripping and profound journey through the Balkans and his own past.

"On the Sunny Side is an important work as an attempt to turn the author's personal biography into a novel. In this way he narrated dilemmas and moods from the prose poems 'Ex Ponto' and 'Nemiri' and dramatized his past cell experiences in a narrative and lesser known biographical way. He gave up writing the novel, probably because he could not achieve the desired result. In every respect, The Sunny Side is different from the three short stories Andrich published in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century."
