Description
Fatma Belkıs's first book, Gidenler (The Gone Ones), published in 2011, gives voice to a generation criticized for their detachment from politics and national issues. Recent political events and solidarities have shown that the 'Özal brats', as Mina Urgan calls them, are not exactly what they are known to be. The book brings together a letter written by a group of young people who disappeared in order to change their lives, and portraits of some of these young people in order to express their possible existential anxieties. On the tenth anniversary of its first publication, this handmade book has been redesigned and reissued in 200 copies, with an English edition also available to the public.
