Description
I'm eighty-one years old.
Come in. Have a seat. Why don't you talk to me condescendingly, like when I was a kid? See what I can do. Talk to me in a high baby voice. Fill out a form. Better yet, fill it out for me. Just have me sign it. I'm probably too blind to read anything printed in small type. Sell me things I don't want. Look around for antiques. See what you can steal.
I'm eighty-one years old.
If he's eating, come and try it.
Frank Derrick is 81 years old and his life is different from that of an ordinary 81-year-old man. In a small town, he gets along with the other elderly residents of the one-story houses; salesmen come to his door and phone every day; everything is ordinary until he is hit by a milk truck. With his arm in a cast after the accident, Frank tries to put old age, which he hasn't gotten used to since he turned 50, on the shelf with Kelly, the nurse who comes to his home, and his extraordinary life begins. Kelly's presence feels like spring, almost to the point of making him want to live with a broken arm forever...
