Missed Letters

Description
Throwing only a book and an MP3 player in his bag, Jihun leaves his home with his dog, staying in a different motel every day and listening to the stories of the people he meets on the road. Instead of learning the names of his temporary companions, he numbers them and writes down their addresses. 239 reciting poems to a comatose friend who once dreamed of becoming a poet; 109 traveling by train on the same line every day because of a misunderstanding; 32 who decided to commit suicide and many more... Jihun writes a letter to one of these numbers every evening during his journey, in order to console them, to keep a record of his own experiences and to escape his loneliness. The end of his journey depends on a letter arriving at his home before he does.
In "Unanswered Letters", Jang Eun-jin offers the lonely travelers of modern life to travel together. She reminds us of the value of understanding and connecting with others in an age where communication tools are increasing day by day and genuine sharing is decreasing.
This work, in which pain and humor are intertwined, carries the glimmer of hope in its lines.
