Otomy is based on Ekin Kano and Deniz Kırkalı's joint production since 2020. The book is the embodiment of their interest in the body - its inside, outside, boundaries, materiality, decay, infiltration and transformation - and painting as a medium, form and material, which form the backbone of their research and practice. Conceived as an object aware of its cross-section, the book offers the opportunity to travel into different bodies, unraveling the body layer by layer and treating it as a space for knowledge production, a place of collaboration and an opportunity for engagement.
