Attila and Byzantine History

Description
The importance of Priscus, who occupies the most important place among the written sources of European Hun history, in terms of Turkish history and historiography is beyond any kind of discussion. Priscus is not a historian who wrote the events of his time only by hearsay. His presence among the Huns as part of an embassy delegation and, moreover, his presence at Attila's table, and the fact that his accounts are based on first-hand observations, make him exceptional. The fact that he was the only writer who was able to see Attila and his portrayal of Attila in his work is unique in this respect.
"The long chapter on Attila and his court shows Priscus to be a master of narrative and the most gifted historian between Ammianus Marcellinus and Procopius."
-J.B. Bury, History of the Later Roman Empire
