Homeland
Description
Anayurt is the story of a Greek family who lived in Bozcaada (Tenedos) until the early 70's and then had to emigrate, and the story of a Greek family's being uprooted from their homeland, or perhaps not being uprooted at all.
The novel tells the story of the difficult years of love, hopes, expectations and hardships that have taken place amidst all the political tensions through the eyes of a child. And that boy, Dimitri, returns to Bozcaada after years to make peace with his past, both as a Turkish and an Australian...
It is the story of two cultures, side by side rather than across, intertwined rather than disconnected.
