Otomy stems from the dialogue and collaboration between Kano and Kirkali since October 2020. Otomy materializes their conversations on bodies which constitutes the backbone of their researches and practices; its insides and outsides, boundaries, materiality, decay, leak, and morphing as well as their shared interest in painting as a medium, form, and material. The visual components and writings in the book have been conceptualized and fictionalized as a shared body. The book itself invites the reader to explore various bodies, reveals the various layers of bodies, and approaches it as a space for knowledge production, collaboration, and relationality.
